Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and related disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and coordinate financial reporting submissions to UOB Group Singapore, including reporting packs, consolidation schedules, variance analysis and management reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulatory reports accurately and within stipulated deadlines, ensuring compliance with all applicable reporting guidelines.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities, including preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and other accounting entries.
- Analyse financial results and movements, provide meaningful commentaries and explain key variances to management, Group Finance and other stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures in accordance with MFRS/IFRS and other relevant regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with Finance, Risk, Business, Operations and regional stakeholders to ensure completeness and consistency of reported financial information. Support financial reporting requirements relating to IFRS 9 and Expected Credit Loss (ECL), including preparation of disclosures and analysis. Knowledge of ECL methodologies will be an added advantage.
- Participate in finance transformation, automation and process enhancement initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, data quality and operational effectiveness.
- Assist in management reporting, ad hoc financial analysis, regulatory reviews, audit requests and special projects initiated by local management or Group Finance.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in banking financial reporting, regulatory reporting or finance functions.
- Experience in Group reporting to Head Office and regulatory reporting to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).
- Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and banking financial reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of IFRS 9 and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) reporting is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building (AR) skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across different levels of the organisation.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
