Description
About the Role:As a Strategic 3rd pParty Portfolio Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the cash cycle and printworks ecosystem. You will define long-term strategic capabilities, identify emerging technology trends, develop strategic partnerships, and drive portfolio evolution across software, automation, manufacturing, logistics, and digital services.
This role combines elements of strategy, business development, portfolio management, and M&A. You will work across organizational boundaries to ensure that G+D develops the right competencies, partnerships, technologies, and business models required to remain a market leader in a rapidly evolving industry.
You create clarity on where the market is heading, what capabilities G+D needs to develop, and which partnerships, acquisitions, and investments are required to achieve its long-term strategic ambitions. You shape the future ecosystem of Cash Centers and Printworks, enabling the transition from hardware-centric solutions toward integrated software, service, and platform-based business models while ensuring sustainable growth and long-term competitive advantage.
Your Responsibilities:
- Define the long-term target architecture and strategic roadmap for future solution projects (Cash Centers, Printworks, and digital currency management solutions) in close collaboration with the Technology and Project Execution department, Strategic Procurement, Strategy, Solution Sales, and colleagues in the strategic portfolio management department CB/PW
- Closely analyze today's process and technology landscape in customers' factories, identify unmet customer needs, and derive future requirements for CTCS' solutions portfolio
- Analyze supplier markets (G+D group internally as well as externally), existing and upcoming technology trends, and industry developments to identify future upselling opportunities and capability requirements for CTCS' turnkey solutions portfolio
- Develop 3rd party portfolio strategies that align customer needs, technological innovation, and business objectives
- Create a strategic supplier framework that streamlines the supplier selection process for solution projects taking strategic risks, dependencies, and governance models associated with key partnerships into account
- Drive make-buy-partner decisions to determine which capabilities should be developed internally, acquired, or sourced through strategic partners and play a leading role in the establishment of strategic supplier agreements
- Develop business cases, financial models, strategic scenarios, and investment recommendations for senior management
Your Profile:
- Master's degree in business administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience in Strategy, Portfolio Management, Partner management, Corporate Development, Consulting, or Technology Management
- Strong understanding of industrial software, automation, digital transformation, and technology-driven business models
- Experience in building strategic partnerships and managing complex stakeholder ecosystems
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including business case development, investment evaluation, and strategic planning
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for creating new business opportunities and driving organizational change
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English, additional languages are a plus
