Department

The department will become a strategic and operational unit in our company. Your main task is to ensure that we operate successfully in defense and generate new growth. In addition, it should be ensured that offer management is successfully carried out in the sales process and that the relevant KPIs are achieved.

As Portfolio Operations Manager (Defense), you support the Head of Portfolio and all Product Line Directors in structuring, harmonizing and developing the entire defense portfolio. They create transparency, synergies and uniform working methods across all product lines and form the organizational and analytical framework of the portfolio area.

Your tasks
• Ensuring day-to-day operations in portfolio management.
• Coordinate, maintain and update portfolio data (status, milestones, resources, and budgets).
• Preparation of regular portfolio reports and status overviews
• Ensuring a consistent, high-quality database
• Development, maintenance and consolidation of the portfolio-wide roadmap.
• Identification of synergies, reusability and comprehensive architectural components.
• Preparation and moderation of portfolio reviews and steering rounds.
• Analysis of market needs, customer trends and technology topics to derive cross-functional portfolio initiatives, particularly in the area of autonomous systems
• Preparation of business cases, comparative analyses and data-based portfolio decision-making bases.
• Coordination of development projects
• Close coordination and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ensuring compliance with standards, guidelines, and governance requirements
• Identification of operational weak points and efficiency potentials
• Implementation of improvement measures to increase operational portfolio excellence

your profile
• Analytical, structured, strong in communication.
• High affinity for technology, system architecture, data and processes
• Ability to structure complex relationships and present them simply.
• Empathy and coordination skills in dealing with product line directors and key stakeholders.
• Reliable, independent and detail-oriented way of working
• Resilience and ability to manage multiple topics in parallel
• Several years of experience in complex technical portfolio and project environments
• Very good presentation and moderation skills
• Experience in defense topics is desirable.

Qualifications required

• Study in technology, economics, systems engineering or a comparable field (doctorate is an advantage)
• Demonstrable several years of experience in portfolio, product management, project management roles and methods.
• Demonstrable experience in areas such as robotics, autonomous systems or sensors
• Experience in coordinating interdisciplinary teams
• Strong analytical skills
• Safe use of roadmapping, KPI and reporting tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, PowerBI).
• Very good German and English skills.

Through your work, we avoid duplicate developments, create reusability, improve coordination between product lines and accelerate roadmap implementation.
