We are seeking a Senior Consultant / Manager, Systems Strategy & Data Governance to join our System Advisory practice within the Transformation Team. This role sits at the intersection of management consulting and enterprise technology, advising clients on how to align their systems landscape with strategic business objectives and establish robust data governance frameworks. The successful candidate brings a strong consulting mindset with hands-on understanding of enterprise technology, enabling them to bridge boardroom strategy and on-the-ground IT execution.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Strategy & Technology Roadmap
- Lead client engagements to assess current-state IT landscapes, identify capability gaps, and develop future-state systems strategies aligned with business goals
- Define enterprise architecture principles, technology investment priorities, and digital transformation roadmaps
- Facilitate the preparation of C-suite and senior stakeholders advisory on system rationalisation, cloud migration strategies, and platform consolidation decisions
- Conduct market and vendor assessments to support technology selection and sourcing strategy
- Design and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, including data ownership models, data stewardship programmes, and policy structures
- Develop data quality management strategies and establish metrics/KPIs for ongoing data health monitoring
- Support clients in building data catalogues, master data management (MDM) strategies, and lineage documentation
- Advise on regulatory and compliance considerations impacting data management (e.g. PDPO, GDPR, industry-specific requirements)
- Manage project workstreams and cross-functional teams; prepare executive-level deliverables including strategy decks, business cases, and governance charters
- Facilitate workshops and structured interviews with business and IT stakeholders to elicit requirements and align on strategic direction
- Contribute to business development activities including proposal writing, client relationship management, and practice development
- 5- 10 years of experience in management consulting, IT strategy advisory, or data governance related field; prior Big Four or top-tier consulting firm experience is preferred, while other technology experience will also be considered
- Demonstrated experience in delivering IT/systems strategy or data governance engagements for enterprise clients
- Exposure to large-scale digital transformation programmes or ERP/enterprise system implementations in an advisory capacity
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture concepts (e.g. TOGAF or equivalent frameworks)
- Familiarity with data governance tools and practices (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of at least one major enterprise platform domain (ERP, CRM, SCM, or similar)
- Proficiency in structuring strategic analyses, business cases, and executive presentations
- Strong facilitation, written communication, and client-facing skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin preferred for Hong Kong-based role)
- Experience with AI/analytics strategy and data platform advisory (cloud data warehouses, BI strategy)
