This is one of Europe's most ambitious philanthropic institutions building and running initiatives in digital innovation, art, and conservation.
They have a mandate to compound capital over decades to fund the Foundation's own philanthropic initiatives. They allocate to funds and make select direct (co-)investments across public equities, leveraged buyouts, venture and growth capital, hedge funds, and real assets. Working with a long-term horizon and genuine strategic latitude they are not mandate-constrained or bureaucratic in the way they work. What the job involves
The group has a three-year Investment Manager rotational program designed for early-career investment professionals. You will work alongside senior members of the investment team to further build out the global portfolio across all asset classes. Upon successful completion of the program, you can advance to a senior position on the investment team.
- Support the full investment cycle, from sourcing and underwriting to monitoring and divesting external fund managers
- Identify new investment themes and emerging fund management teams globally
- Contribute to investment discussions and the development of portfolio strategy
- Help build and maintain the professional network across managers, co-investors, and banks
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a top-tier private equity firm, investment bank, asset management firm, or management consultancy
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct fundamental company research
- Structured and methodical working style with attention to detail
- A global perspective and genuine interest in a wide range of investment themes
- Fluency in English is required, other languages are a plus. German is not required
- Willingness to travel and to be based at our offices in Potsdam
- Integrity, discretion, and a strong moral compass
- Self-starter mindset and a track record of getting things done
