We're looking for an Investment Analyst to join the Investment business unit. Our analysts play a key role in supporting the work of the Investment business unit and providing practical support to client-facing consultants.
The role includes assisting with monitoring of investment performance for clients and drafting client advice across a broad range of topics, including investment strategy and structure, investment markets, risk management, asset managers, responsible investment and governance.
*We are open to considering candidates on a part time or full-time basis*
What will your role look like?
You'll support our investment consultants to provide advice to trustee (private sector and local government) and corporate clients on a wide range of issues.
This will include:

- Working with our data and reporting specialists to deliver performance analysis of portfolios and produce high-quality, bespoke monitoring reports.
- Undertaking analysis across a variety of projects, including investment strategy reviews, investment structure reviews, investment manager selection and transitions.
- Supporting the development of our key investment propositions.
- Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for stakeholders such as actuaries, investment managers and administrators.
Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:
- Supporting new business efforts by drafting responses to new business tenders.
- Preparing monthly client bills.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced analysts within client teams and the wider investment team.
- Adhering to the firm's core business and compliance requirements, including Information Security standards.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues to support smooth workflow processes.
- Engaging fully in training and personal development opportunities.
To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A flexible, proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Developing analytical and technical skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams while using your own initiative.
- A working style aligned to our values - friendly, partnering, straightforward and confident.
Qualifications and experience:
- Relevant experience gained in a related role such as investment consultancy or fund management.
- Proven knowledge of, and interest in, investments.
- Strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft Office tools.
- A degree in maths, economics or another numerate discipline (or equivalent).
- Studying towards an Actuarial or CFA qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Awareness of major asset classes used in UK pension schemes and key topics within the UK DB pension market.
We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support. We would also love to hear about other knowledge and experience you may have that is not listed but could be of interest.
In addition to a competitive salary and access to our profit share scheme, we offer:
- A flexible selection of employee benefits, so you can choose a package that best matches your lifestyle and needs.
- A collaborative and encouraging work environment where your thinking and ideas are encouraged.
- On site mental health and wellbeing assistance.
- A commitment to helping you develop both personally and professionally, with mentoring opportunities and access to our award-winning learning portal, Aspire.
- Regular social activities, in addition to three days paid volunteering leave each year and a day's leave to celebrate your birthday.
- Hybrid working so you can enjoy the positive wellbeing of working from home as well as the benefits of meeting colleagues in our sociable, modern office environments - with the expectation of two 'in-office' days per week.
- A flexible working window, allowing colleagues the freedom to work flexibly between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
Please note that we recruit on a rolling basis so early applications are recommended to avoid disappointment.
