Description
Position DescriptionThe Finance Manager is to support the finance operations and other fund finance managers to provide accurate and timely financial information, analyses and forecasts to allow the management team to make appropriate strategic and managerial decisions; coordinate various financial planning, finance, valuation and reporting functions across the private equity platform.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, annual business planning, and funding plan processes across funds, SMAs, GP/management companies, JV entities, and new strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and review financial analysis, management reporting, performance dashboards, and business presentations to support decision-making by senior management and investment leadership.
- Monitor financial performance through monthly P&L reviews, fund-level returns analysis, risk-adjusted performance metrics, and variance analyses, partnering closely with Group Finance, Treasury, and Risk teams.
- Develop financial models, projections, and business cases to support new fund launches, capital raising activities, business development opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate regular and ad hoc financial reporting submissions for internal stakeholders, regulators, investors, and the Group.
Operations, Fund Finance & Governance
- Act as the dedicated finance lead for the specific fund platform, overseeing all fund finance, treasury, operational, governance, regulatory, and investor servicing activities.
- Manage investor reporting and fund administration across monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, serving as the primary liaison with fund administrators and external service providers.
- Oversee fund and deal cash management, including capital calls, distributions, liquidity planning, treasury activities, fund transfers, fixed deposits, and investor cash flow forecasting.
- Manage annual audits for funds, SMAs, GP/management entities, SPVs, and JV structures, coordinating with auditors, fund administrators, Group Finance, and external advisors.
- Ensure compliance with LPAs, side letters, regulatory requirements, tax obligations, and licensing frameworks, including CIMA Private Fund and Registered Persons regulations, K-1/K-3 reporting, CTB elections, Form 8865, and related compliance matters.
- Coordinate hedging and derivative transactions, ISDA documentation, treasury activities, and interactions with trading desks, settlement teams, counterparties, and banking partners.
- Oversee governance activities including board meetings, resolutions, corporate secretarial matters, entity maintenance, and legal documentation across funds, SPVs, GPs, investment managers, and JV entities.
- Manage operational relationships with fund administrators, custodians, banks, accounting firms, tax advisors, valuation firms, and other external service providers.
- Establish and maintain fund accounting policies, bank and custody account structures, KYC requirements, and operational infrastructure supporting fund and investment activities.
Valuation & Performance Analytics
- Lead fund-level and investor-level performance analysis, including IRRs, MOICs, carried interest waterfall calculations, and portfolio return attribution.
- Support investment valuation processes, transaction structuring, financial returns analysis, tax-efficient investment structures, and financing initiatives.
- Prepare valuation analyses and supporting documentation for external auditors, internal auditors, regulators, investors, and governance committees.
- Collaborate with investment teams, valuation specialists, fund administrators, and external advisors to ensure valuation integrity and consistency with industry standards and fund governing documents.
Requirements
- Degree holder, with a professional qualification such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of solid finance and accounting experience within the private funds industry
- Strong preference for candidates with buy-side experience and exposure to credit products
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver assignments within tight timelines
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
- Comfortable working independently as the sole dedicated finance professional for the Lending Ark strategy
- Self-motivated, accountable, and able to take full ownership of deliverables
- Native-level English and fluent Mandarin required
