Description
We're working with a top-performing investment firm that's looking to add a Senior Investment Analyst to their high-impact investment team. Our client blends deep fundamental research with cutting-edge alternative data to drive alpha in tech and consumer equities. This position involves deep fundamental research combined with heavy use of alternative data to generate differentiated insights and support high-conviction investment decisions.The Opportunity:
- Fundamental Meets Quant: This role focuses on Fundamental Research and investment strategy. You'll collaborate closely with quants and data teams to translate data into actionable ideas.
- Alternative Data Expertise: Ideal for someone with a strong grasp of alt data and a track record of applying it effectively in investment decisions.
- Sector Focus: Experience in consumer and tech equities is essential.
- Fundamental Strength: Strong communication and analytical skills are a must - this is a role for someone who can think deeply and articulate clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous equity research on consumer/technology companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis.
- Leverage alternative data sources (e.g., web traffic, app usage, transaction data) to identify trends and validate investment theses.
- Monitor industry developments, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic factors impacting the sector.
- Prepare detailed investment recommendations and present findings to senior decision-makers.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers on idea generation and portfolio construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or CFA designation preferred.
- 3-8 years of experience in buy-side equity research, ideally with exposure to consumer or tech sectors.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and interpret alternative data sets.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
