Mercer's Investment Solutions business is seeking a candidate who has a strong level of investment knowledge and experience, a passion for excellence and a strong team ethos for the following analyst position based in London:Sales Support Analyst (Business Development)
What can you expect:
- You will be at the heart of the action: supporting our sales leaders with large new-business opportunities across alternative investment asset classes. This is not a direct sales role but a team-based environment where you will be expected to influence our win rates through top-quality materials, support, and proactive thinking.
- In this central team, you will enhance your knowledge and understanding of a wide range of investment topics, such as strategy-setting, private markets investing, ESG investing, capital markets, and more. You will also hone your skills in project management, communication of key messages in a concise way, and management of different personality types both internally and externally.

We will rely on you to:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Mercer's alternatives investment client solutions in order to explain and communicate through materials the value we can bring to prospective clients.
- Work closely with sales and commercial leadership on all aspects of alternative investment sales and business development activities, and demonstrate ownership of key sales deliverables, including new business proposals, pitch material, and any areas of specialist expertise that you may be assigned to.
- Manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Support and influence other business development initiatives, such as the roll-out of new tools, product launches, marketing initiatives, go-to-market strategy, market research, and intelligence. This will involve collaborating with worldwide Mercer colleagues across our wider investment, operational, client, and consulting teams.
- Support and contribute to the continuous development of the team.
What you need to have:
- A strong academic track record, a strong interest in capital markets and 1 - 2 years of relevant investment industry experience.
- Energy, proactivity and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and internal stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proven team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) with the ability to embrace other tools.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience in a similar role, preparing business proposals / presentations within an investment environment.
- Understanding of the institutional investment landscape and structures.
- Experience with alternative investment asset classes such as private equity, private debt, infrastructure, real estate and hedge funds would be particularly relevant.
- Creative thinking with high standards of output and the ability to generate concise written materials.
- The ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and coherent manner.
