Description
Job Summary:The Investment Analyst reports to the Director of Investment Research and is responsible for assisting in the management of TCU's endowment portfolio and supporting senior professionals to achieve superior risk-adjusted long-term performance. The Investment Analyst will work closely with senior investment staff on special projects and the production of regular reporting. The Investment Analyst will provide support in diligence, monitoring, and documentation of investments across various asset classes.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
1. Works collaboratively with investment and operations Staff members to help generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for the investment portfolio.
2. Provides support to senior investment executives. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assistance with due diligence, meeting documentation, performance measurement, data management, and asset allocation research.
3. Audits and performs quality control of reported datasets. Maintain data from internal and external databases; manipulate and analyze data according to the needs of senior staff.
4. Develops, maintains, and enhances existing periodic management reports.
5. Participates in the development of internal and external research covering a wide range of areas, including equity, credit, credit derivatives, structured products, corporate finance, syndicated loans, commodities and other real assets.
6. Writes up results of various studies for possible presentation.
7. Travels occasionally to meetings and events.
8. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics Major.
• 1 - 3 years of relevant professional experience; relevant work experience may include, but is not limited to, prior roles at an endowment, foundation, family office, Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) or other sophisticated investment platform
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Work towards either a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Ability to obtain certification as Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge and intellectually curious about investment concepts, capital markets nomenclature, strategies, styles, and analytical methodologies.
• Knowledge of global and domestic macroeconomic and capital market issues relating to investments.
• Knowledge of project management techniques.
• Skill in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication of complex information.
• Skill in detail orientation possessing strong communication and multi-tasking skills.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication of complex information that is accurate, timely and based on sound judgment.
• Ability to analyze, problem solve and research issues and communicate results.
• Ability to extract and analyze financial data in a computerized environment.
• Ability to work collegially and effectively with others.
• Ability to make presentations to groups with varied levels of investment knowledge.
• Ability to be self-motivated and willing to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to be comfortable with establishing contact with outside entities, including investment managers, general partners, consultants, etc., and therefore must have the ability to represent Texas Christian University in a professional and positive manner.

• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.

• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.

Work Environment:
• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position but does require some travel.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
