Work Schedule Full-time
Salary Range: $42,895 - $57,194
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the College’s Controller, the Staff Accountant will perform a variety of technical and advanced clerical accounting duties to support the College’s administration. This position also performs a fiscal review of the LCCC Foundation's endowed, non-endowed, and scholarship funds; maintains the financial database; and performs a variety of financial administration and reporting tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Foundation Responsibilities:
- Maintains financial database; analyzes data; creates and posts journal entries, creates reports.
- Processes and monitors the disbursement of Foundation funds; receives requests for funds; processes payments; prepares checks, receipts, and cover letters; obtains required signatures.
- Prepares bank deposits; maintains income records; monitors the collection of donations/payments to ensure that revenues and expenditures are properly accounted for and distributed to appropriate funds.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations.
- Manages balances and distribution of scholarships (endowed and non-endowed); prepares donor-related scholarship reports, and coordinates reconciliation of scholarship software with Executive Director of Financial Aid and Foundation Assistant.
- Creates monthly financial statements.
- Prepares investment schedules, entries, and year-end analysis.
- Prepares quarterly board meeting reports and presents financial data to F&I Committee.
- Compiles and maintains audit-ready files to ensure all documentation is provided in accordance with LCCC Foundation regulations and in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Responsible for preparing audit schedules and gathering supporting documentation required by auditors.
- Prepares fiscal year-end draft financial statements and footnotes.
College Responsibilities:
- Performs general accounting duties such as journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Manages budget and prepares reporting for capital projects.
- Prepares bank reconciliations.
- Assists with program proforma development and analysis.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
Required:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
Certifications
- Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)
Work Experience:
- 501c3 nonprofit experience.
- Three years of experience in accounting field with technical experience in managing databases and reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Advanced user of QuickBooks software.
- Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: teamwork/cooperation, initiative, customer service, and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge
Preferred:
- Bilingual (Spanish)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
